County seat of Leto Valley. The area was settled in the 1850’s, and the city of Leto, Oregon was incorporated as a city in 1892. As of the 2000 census, the city had a population of 74,397. With the majority of Leto Valley is devoted to agricultural and wine-related businesses, the city of Leto serves as the hub of the region’s light industry, retail, commercial and banking activity.
Additionally, Leto contains Mitikas University, a prestigious private university known for its highly competitive student selection process and highly successful graduates.
